What I’m Reading This Week 6/15

It’s Monday, What am I reading?

Well it’s another Monday. June is almost gone. I have read 11 books so far this year.

My favorites are rereading North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell and NOS4A2 by Joe Hill (so excited for season 2!!!). My other favorites have been reading A Boy Called Christmas by Matt Haig with my nieces.

This month I finished reading a newish favorite author’s book that I enjoyed. I picked this book because of the title… Don’t You Forget About Me by Mhairi McFarlane. I really really liked Lucas! He’s definitely a new book boyfriend for me. And my photo here… well if you haven’t figured it out from the title of the book, here’s my typical breakfast… as a tribute to the movie The Breakfast Club where it has the song of the same title as the book. And yes, I have that song stuck in my head right now… so here’s it is for some #MusicMonday

I’ll probably post this video again whenever I get around to reviewing this book soon. I love finding books that connect with music. Also I just love finding books with cool titles… like this list I made:  Because of… The Title. I will be making more lists like this one later on. Probably once a month.

As for that Mockingjay pin above, I finished reading The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes by Suzanne Collins yesterday. I really loved the Hunger Games trilogy. There is a lot of nostalgia for me because I read these books I’m 2015 with my grandpa before he died a few years later. Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes did not disappoint me. It was a gripping book and I’m still feeling wowed.

I might even have a book hangover from this book because I’m currently reading about 5 other books right now and they aren’t even close to the excitement from Suzanne Collins book. I might even reread and rewatch the Hunger Games trilogy to help my book hangover.

I am currently reading…

Like I said I’m reading about 5 books right now. One in particular is a reread but with my niece and nephew. We are currently reading Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone by J.K. Rowling. We are reading the book while we also watch/ listen to the actors read along on the Wizarding World (Pottermore) webpage for the #HarryPotterAtHome read along. Daniel Radcliffe read the first chapter. We listened and read with N Dumezweni for the second chapter. I’m excited for chapter 3 with Eddie Redmayne!

I’ve also been trying to read House of Salt and Sorrows by Erin A. Craig. I’ve been reading this off and on since the end of April. I’m now finally past 130 pages and am only continuing because of the Read and Gush Book Club on Instagram.

What I will be reading next is…

hopefully some from my tbr list for #20BooksOfSummer20 challenge I’m looking forward to.
