It’s Monday What Are You Reading?

It’s Monday the 22nd and almost the end of June. I’ve been reading a lot more this week. The times that I get the most reading done is while I am eating breakfast. And then after that life gets in the way. And what I mean by life I mean that I end up knitting various projects. The photo below with House of Salt and Sorrows has one of my older knitting projects, the fingerless gloves. I found part of the knitting pattern and some ideals from Yarnspirations and now I am addicted to that site along with their YouTube. As for how good I am, according to the website I am now an intermediate. I have just recently learned the knitting technique with using cable needles. Really I’ve just been grabbing all different kinds of things to knit and see how I go from there. I am very lucky that a friend gave me some of her leftover yarn, though with Covid19 I am glad that I have stocked up with so much of the yarn that I’ve gotten since I started knitting in Febraury. I have also been watching a lot of shows and movies. Today I was so excited because my favorite movie, The Apartment, was on TCM channel. I really love that movie. But I will be trying to finish some of my books this month. I did finish reading The Ballad Of Songbirds and Snakes and promise to work on writing a review soon.

This week I hope to finish two books…

House of Salt and Sorrows

House of Salt and Sorrows by Erin A. Craig. A buddy read for the book club on Bookstagram, Read And Gush. I’ve finally gotten to 170 pages on my hardcover edition. I got this edition from Owlcrate book subscription ages ago and am finally almost done reading it. It was slow at the beginning but now it’s picking up.

and Twilight by Stephanie Meyer. This reread is also for a buddy read with @treppy13 on Bookstagram. It’s been decades since the one and only time I’ve read this book. After I read the book I thought I might read the other books but they’ve been on my kindle waiting to be read for a very very very long time and they may be waiting some more. So far I am finding “Bella” to be on the annoying side. Thankfully the reading group I’m buddy reading with has helped me think of the other characters instead of her. Also they helped me forget about the actors in that horrid movie that I still haven’t finished watching. I’ve no interest to watch the movie once I’ve finished rereading this book.

What are you currently reading?

This is a meme that started with Sheila @ Book Journeys and is now hosted by Kathryn @ The Book Date.

  1. Ah, I’d love to go back some time and re-read Twilight by Stephanie Meyer. I do remember Bella being quite annoying (and falling down all the time). But I have fond memories of reading the series with my daughter and then watching all the movies right in a row to complete the experience. If I go back, I’ll have to focus more on the other characters. 🙂 Thanks for sharing, Michelle!

    1. Focusing on the other characters is exactly what I’ve been doing for this reread… thanks to the buddy read I’m more focused on the dads right now. Also the other people in the town. They’re barely mentioned but when they do there is so much foreshadowing
