Can’t Wait Wednesday 6/17

Can’t Wait or Waiting on Wednesday here…

With some Chuck Palahniuk love.

The CWW (can’t wait Wednesday) is hosted by Wishful Endings where we can discuss anything bookish that we are excited about.

There is a lot of new books that I’m excited for this summer. Today I received from Netgalley one of those books.

I love Chuck Palahniuk. After seeing the movie Fight Club I read the book and loved it more than the movie (though I still love Edward Norton!). The photo above is at the Los Angeles Times Book Festival in 2017. He’s the guy on the left. (First photo is me waiting as he signs my book). He is such a nice guy and I was so glad that I went to this book fest to see him and other authors.

I’ve read 3 books by Chuck Palahniuk. And then at the LA Times Book fest I got his graphic novel of Fight Club 2 and read it straight away. Chuck is not afraid to stray from the norm of novels. At the book festival he explained that he’s always looking for new things and believes that graphic novels is literature too, thus making Fight Club 2.

The Invention of Sound by Chuck Palahniuk will be released in September 8th, 2020.

I’m so happy I got an early copy from Netgalley. I am so looking forward to reading this very soon!!

Here’s a quick blurb from GoodReads:

His first novel with Grand Central, Palahniuk says The Invention of Sound is about “a foley artist looking for the ultimate scream, and the hideous lengths she’ll go to in order to find it.”

What are you looking forward to reading?

  1. I’ve not read anything by him but have at least seen Fight Club. I watch a Booktuber who is a HUGE fan as well. I have to admit that cover is quite striking!

  2. I should give Chuck Palahniuk another try. I read Diary years ago and didn’t care for it. I hope you love his new one when you read it!

    1. I read Diary. It wasn’t one of my favorites from the few that I’ve read by him but it does show a lot of Chuck’s style of what kind of antagonist is in his stories. I read Survivor which is better. Fight Club was the first book I read and I think I remembered liking it more than the movie, though it’s been a long time since I’ve read or seen them.
